The White Rim Trail

This is a long overdue blog post about our family trip to Moab over Spring Break in early April. We were there for the week and did some great hikes in the Needles District of Canyonlands and around the Fisher Towers, and took a mountain bike ride on the Bar-M trails outside of Moab, but the real reason we were down there was to ride the White Rim Trail. The White Rim is a 100+ mile primitive road in the Island in the Sky District of Canyonlands. It requires a high clearance four wheel drive vehicle to do it, as well as a spirit of adventure. Jen and I did the ride with a group in our early 20's, before marriage, and I had wanted to do it again. Also, Ellie is only with us for a couple of more years, so I want to make these last Spring Break's with her memorable. We took four days and went with the Grillo family (Bobby, Joellen, Jaia, and Solen), as well as Joellen's cousin Chris Shannon. They were all great company, and we jelled well as a group. The trip is logistically challenging, physically challenging, and fun-as.  I highly recommend it.
