The Bridger Ridge with Al

Al Parker and I were PhD students together back in the early 2000's. Now, he's one of my best friends, and we make the effort to get together a couple of times per year for a big day (or days) in the mountains. A couple of weeks back, I made it over to Bozeman to see Al, and also to visit my PhD adviser Curt. Al planned a big day in the Bridgers: we hiked up Truman Gulch, from the West, summitted the Bridger Ridge, on the north end of Bridger Ski area, and then walked south over Saddle Mountain, Bridger Peak, Baldy Mountain, and down to Bozeman's 'M' parking area. It was a long day, at 11+ hours, but it was fantastic. 

Back to Little St. Joe with Matt

It's been a few weeks back already that Matt Roscoe and I went up to Little St. Joe and spent the weekend skiing. We stayed at the Rocky Mountaineers cabin and had company both nights: on Friday there were two others and then on Saturday four more showed up. Despite the full house in the cabin, the great day skiing we had on Saturday was a balm, and we slept well despite the tight quarters. In fact, it was another magic trip, as they tend to be with Matt.
