Cycling with Jen: TOSRV and the Lolo 12 hour

Jen, TOSRV, day 1.
Jen and I have committed, for our 20th anniversary summer, to doing a bunch of stuff together. She just recently finished with teaching, and our first adventure together for the summer was the TOSRV, in which we cycled from Missoula to Big Fork on Highway 83, 126 miles, on road bikes, and then back to Missoula on Highway 93, 100 miles. It was really challenging, but fun. We had done this same tour about 20 years ago, so it was cool to do it again and remember back. Here's a short video Jen put together from the trip.

On the following weekend, we competed in the Lolo 12 hour mountain bike race. We both ended up doing 5 laps, which required 50 miles of riding with 9000 feet of climbing. To make things exciting, Jen only had 1 hour 17 minutes to ride her last lap, which was faster than all but her first two laps, and she was able to pull it off, crossing the finish line with less than a minute to spare. The crowd was cheering, which of course Jen loved. It was a great day!

The confusing mass start of the race.
Waiting for Jen to roll in at the very end.
